We made it home without any hitches except that my golf clubs are still on their way. We waited about an hour and finally I went to Delta Baggage claim and they said they would arrive around 7:30 PM and then be delivered to the house. Everything went smoothly today and last night. We arrived in San Francisco this morning at about 6:00 with a two hour time change and about 4 hour flight. We ate breakfast and waited about a half hour before boarding the plane to Atlanta. Ally and Alaina did not sleep too well on the first flight so Lucy slipped them a little Melatonin in their yogurt at breakfast. It worked because they slept soundly the entire flight from S.F. to Atlanta. Sara and Lauren and Lucy also got some much needed rest on this flight.
We enjoyed the reception at the airport. We were greeted by signs and cheers. Thanks to everyone who gave up their relaxing Sunday afternoon to greet our newest member. We were happy to see Lucy's family: her mom, sister Amy and husband Ted, Susan, Mike and Madison, our friends the Hills, Langfords and our adoption family the Tanski's and Faye's. One of my former band parents was there waiting on her son and she saw all the commotion and came over to meet Alaina as well. Once again, we REALLY appreciated it and enjoyed seeing everyone.
We are somewhat unpacked and are working on the laundry. It is now 9:30 and the big girls are watching a movie and the little ones were dancing to the radio in Alaina's room. Lucy is going to try and get everyone to bed. Lauren wants to go to school tomorrow but I am not sure about Sara. I am going to teach my 1st and 2nd periods and then head home.
Alaina was very nervous on the ride home. She was extremely concerned that Lucy did not get in the car right away at the airport. Just before we got home, she ate a few cookies, and saw an airplane in the sky. The cookies and the airplane seemed to perk her up.
When we got home, Alaina went right in to the house and went room by room. I feel very confident that she knew she was finally home. She saw the pictures on the wall and her new room. Tonight she has been comfortable enough to play in other rooms. She has not been clingy at all. I think she is doing amazingly well. I am going to read a bedtime story and we are all going to get some much needed sleep.

Hurray! Welcome home! The Troys are sorry we were not able to greet you at the airport, but Ilene and Amanda are looking forward to meeting Alaina on Tuesday when they bring dinner.

Thanks for the note on your arrival home. We watched the clock all afternoon and were there for your homecoming in spirit. Look for a box in the next few days. Your Christmas is coming!

Congratulations and what an answer to prayer!!! Its so good to hear you were home. We realized that you were coming home on our "GOTCHA DAY" that one year ago today we were having Gabriel put into our arms in Guatemala.. how wild is that??
She just seems so happy and content.. its just the most awesome thing to see through the pictures..Wow, a family of 6!!! Let the adventures and blogging begin!!!!!!!! We love ya and can't wait to meet Alaina!!

Welcome home! Everything sounds just great. We look forward to our next get together! And, I am chuckling to read that my previous comments about not having to worry about getting golf clubs home thsi trip were erroneous! New clubs, eh Doug? Very exciting! Moffatt will look forward to the details.
