Sara's Senior Prom

We ALL had a great Prom Weekend!  Our dear friends, the Millers, drove all the way from Orlando so that Sara and Josh could go to prom together!  Despite a broken down car, they made it safely on Friday late afternoon.  The kids (all 10 of them, including Renee) get along so well and "pick up right where they left off" each time we get together. 

Sara and Josh had a lot of fun.  Luckily, Josh is a great sport, since he didn't know ANYone but Sara!  They looked so nice and laughed a lot.

Ally's soccer game - she runs around a lot and occasionally kicks the ball! 


And Buzz Lightyear (with a "polar bear vest") attended 1st grade PJ day!

2nd Grade sang for the Volunteer's Brunch at school.  Alaina was up front!

Alaina's 9 Year Check-Up

Some of you may remember how skinny Alaina was when we met her 3 years ago (just before her 6th b'day), so the fact that she registered in the 0 %'ile for weight may not surprise you!  But she is in the 3rd %'ile for height!  She is growing along the curve, she's just still UNDER the curve!  Went for her check up today.  She is 48" tall and weighs 44 pounds!  At this rate, she will never get out of a booster seat! 

Disney with the Millers!

After MANY years, we finally made it to Disney World with our long-time friends, the Millers!  We had a great time -- all 14 of us! Chad and Melissa recently relocated to the Orlando area, so we piled into their house and spent 2 great days in the parks.

And once again, one of the coolest things happened.  We were on the Disney bus doing a little park hopping, when a family sat down near us and just "had to ask"... about adoption!  The mom seemed very interested, so of course I gave her my email and if/when she emails me, I will enroll her in "Donna 101".  When we got off the bus, I had this feeling of "THIS is why were were here at this very moment."

Once again, a group of us invaded Lin's Bistro on Saturday to celebrate our Chinese connections!  A few families attended that are just getting started, some waiting to travel, and some who have come and gone (and gone again!). 

Happy 9th Bday Alaina!

Alaina celebrated with 5 friends from school and family on Friday night with a "late night cupcake party."  The girls ate pizza, decorated and ate cupcakes, played Just Dance 3 and ran wild (I need to remember the general rule to make the party 30 minutes shorter than you think it needs to be!). 

A Little Escape

We spent last night in Clayton.  On Screamer Mountain.  We just love it up there.  The big girls think it's a little boring.  The little girls think it's great fun (after all, there's a hot tub and lots of sticks).  Even though there's always a job to do or something to fix or something to clean, it's just the most refreshing place to go (well, the beach is good too).  And of course, there's "Goats on the Roof".  We took a little hike on the trails near Talullah Falls.  Perfect day  - a little sunny and even a hint of "warm".  In January!
